Stenhousemuir FC has always considered itself to be a community club and has worked hard in recent years to build up its community projects. It became a Community Interest Commpany in 2010 with all profits generated by the club reinvested into its community projects. It now provides a wide range of activities that demonstrate their continual commitment to the local community. The work is carried out through there Warriors in the Community programme.
The Warriors in the Community programme provides fun activities designed to get the community active and fit including, Walking Football for the over 50’s and Stenny Stars for boys and girls aged between 7 and 12 with physical, sensory or learning difficulties.
A pilot project for over 50s which is a lower intensity format of the game where it is a foul to run. Numbers have been fantastic and they have now started a second session every week.
This provides weekly football and sport opportunities for boys and girls aged between 7 and 12 with physical, sensory or learning difficulties. Football is the main focus behind the class but participants will also work on various balance and coordination skills, communication with their peers and coaches as well as reflexes, reactions and football skills.
